It’s not about your best life.

Share everyday moments that capture your whole story.

Social media has changed a lot over the years.  While it was never perfect, it was pretty good at connecting you with friends and showing you interesting things that were happening in their lives.  Today, it feels like those updates are regularly buried under an avalanche of perfect selfies, self-improvement ads, and algorithmic content from strangers.

All of this to say, social media has become toxic, because too many companies focus on endless growth rather than great experiences.

We think there’s a better way forward.  With Reelspace,  you can take a time machine back to the original idea of social media, where sharing updates with people you know is fast and simple.

We started Reelspace as an easy way to share videos with close friends and family in private spaces.   Not just videos about your best life, but videos about the simple joys and everyday moments that capture your whole story.  We don’t provide filters or counts of how many likes, views or connections you have, so you can just be yourself.  We open straight to the camera app, and our hope is that you will just shoot and share, without spending too much time thinking about what to post, whether or not it’s post-worthy, or worrying about how many people will like your content.

I have tons of photos and videos on my phone that I captured without worrying about who was going to watch them or like them.  As it turns out, my kids love looking at these old photos and videos, and even though they are older now and quarrel quite a bit, I find that they really enjoy watching these memories together.  I like to think that it helps them recall the good feelings and camaraderie they shared when they were younger and playing together was their best life.

We hope Reelspace can help you remember the joys you encounter in your everyday life as well. Available on the Apple App Store.
